Image: New 44' Greenhouse & New Area for Production Growth
The winter season causes many plants to go into dormancy, but this also gives us an opportunity to focus on the nursery infrastructure. This winter we patched and updated irrigation, built greenhouses, and laid new nursery fabric.
Want to grow your own tea?
Yaupon Holly tea, made from the leaves of Ilex vomitoria, is a flavorful and energizing beverage that offers numerous health benefits. Native to the southeastern United States, Yaupon Holly is the only caffeinated plant indigenous to North America. It provides a mild caffeine boost, similar to that of green tea, but with a smoother and less jittery effect. This makes it an excellent alternative for those seeking a natural stimulant without the harsh side effects of coffee. The tea is rich in antioxidants, particularly catechins and polyphenols, which can help reduce inflammation, improve heart health, and fight oxidative stress.
In addition to its antioxidant content, Yaupon Holly tea has traditionally been used for its potential digestive benefits. It is known to promote healthy digestion, alleviate bloating, and support the body’s natural detoxification processes. The tea also contains saponins, compounds that may help reduce cholesterol levels and support a healthy immune system. Rich in vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, magnesium, and potassium, Yaupon Holly tea can contribute to overall well-being, supporting everything from skin health to hydration. With its versatility, smooth taste, and array of health benefits, Yaupon Holly tea is a great addition to any wellness routine.
Recently, we potted Yaupon Holly's into 1-gallon pots that will be ready for sale this spring and summer. We have 5 ready for sale!
